Adam DeAscentis is a premier New York City-based bassist whose musical signature is heard around the world. On renowned stages and GRAMMY-nominated recordings, Adam’s bass playing has supported the likes of Dionne Warwick, Louis Cato (Late Show with Stephen Colbert), Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren on Broadway in The Last Five Years (2025), Kurt Elling, Cory Wong, Erich Bergen, Cynthia Erivo, Norbert Leo Butz, Randy Rainbow, Jordin Sparks, and Lake Street Dive’s Rachel Price and Akie Bermiss.

As a founding member and bassist of the horn-driven ensemble Huntertones, Adam’s bass playing is an anchor

for the band’s signature sound which blends jazz, funk and rock. For over a decade, Huntertones has thrilled

audiences across five continents, released six albums and conducted numerous cultural diplomacy programs for

the U.S. Department of State.

Adam first picked up a bass at age 10 during his childhood in the rust belt city of Youngstown, Ohio. By the time he graduated high school, he found himself working in a dance band, teaching bass lessons, playing jazz gigs and having performed two bass concertos with his high school symphony and local youth orchestra. He honed his deep musical knowledge through formal training at The Ohio State University and New York University, building a reputation of always showing up well-prepared with a big sound and an easygoing ability to make everyone on stage smile. Known across the industry for his musical touch and Midwestern congeniality, Adam stands out as a true master of the bass, lifting any musical encounter to new levels with humility and attention to detail.
